Nicky has always stayed in exclusive homes such as a suite in the
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, and the Hamptons. Nicky and
her sister are currently staying in their father’s $3 million house in the
Hollywood Hills so that they can have all the privacy that they desire and an
easy access to LA clubs. Her parents also own a $10 million mansion in Bel Air
and a $6.3 million estate in the Hamptons.
Nicky dropped out and decided against attending a university after attending
high school at the Dwight School in New York. She finally earned a GED and then
started modeling for fashion designers Catherine Malandrino and Marc Bouwer. She
also modeled for Italian label Iceberg and had cameo roles in Zoolander (2001),
The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004).
Nicky Hilton is famous for her jetset party-girl lifestyle and for being the
heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune. She was named after her granduncle Nicholas
Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., the one-time husband of actress Elizabeth Taylor and
the son of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton.
Nicky Hilton gained extreme publicity when her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon
clandestinely released a video showing both of them having sex, on the Internet
before The Simple Life appeared. This caused a major flutter and the people were
scandalized by the video which was titled “1 Night in Paris” and released as a
DVD on June 9, 2004 which Salomon hosted. Nicky Hilton sued Rick Salomon for
making the tape public. She received US $400,000 along with a percentage of the
profits when the suit was settled.
Nicky was offered a role in The Simple Life, a reality show in 2003 but she
declined the offer. Her sister Paris, however, went through with it. The show
had three successful seasons and a fourth season is in the offing in the summer
of 2006 on the E! Network. Nicky’s ex-best friend Nicole Richie also starred in
the show, which catapulted both Paris and Nicole’s careers upward.
On August 15, 2004 Nicky Hilton married 33 year-old Todd Andrew Meister in
Las Vegas. Her sister Paris and friend Bijou Phillips attended the ceremony.
Nicky has become extremely famous in recent years, as she has been appearing
in television, movies, commercials, and modeling. Her television and movie roles
earned for her about US$ 2 million in 2003-2004, but in 2004-2005 she earned an
extra $6.5 million from television, movies, modeling, and personal appearances.
During this period, she has been ranked as one of the top 100 celebrities in the
world by the Forbes Magazine.
Nicky along with Kimberley Stewart was chosen to be the face of Australian
underwear line, Antz Pantz in 2005. Whereas Stewart is still continuing with the
contract, Hilton has moved away after being replaced by Australian up-and-coming
model Meagan Maitland.
